If you’ve tracked in Clue for a while, you don’t have to start over. Plum reads Clue’s export and adds your period days, flow and symptoms to your calendar, so predictions start from your real history on day one.
Clue sends the export as a zip with a password. The whole thing is opened on your phone, and you see what would be added before anything is.
Why history matters
Plum needs about three logged cycles before its prediction is the median of your own cycles rather than a starting guess, as how predictions work explains. Importing a year of Clue data gets you past that in one go.
Step by step
- In Clue, ask for a copy of your data. It’s in Clue’s account settings. Clue emails you a link to a zip file and shows you a password for it inside the app.
- Download the zip on your iPhone. Open the link from Clue’s email on the phone that has Plum, and save the file where Files can find it.
- In Plum, open Me, then Import Data, then Clue. Tap Choose your Clue file and pick the zip.
- Enter the password Clue showed you. The file is opened on your phone. Nothing is sent to Plum until you agree to add it.
- Check the preview, then tap Add to Plum. Plum shows how many period days, cycles and symptom entries it found and the dates they cover. Days you’ve already logged in Plum are left as they are.
Common questions
What does Plum import from Clue?
Period days with their flow, spotting, and the symptoms Plum also tracks, such as pain, mood, energy, sleep and skin. An entry for something Plum doesn’t track is skipped, and the preview says how many those are.
Will importing overwrite what I’ve already logged in Plum?
No. A day you’ve logged in Plum keeps everything it has. Only days Plum has nothing for are filled in, so running the same import twice changes nothing the second time.
Can I import from Flo, Apple Health or another app?
Not yet. Clue is the only import today. If you use a different app, tell us through Feedback in the Me tab, and we’ll know which one to add next.
Is the Clue file uploaded to Plum?
No. The zip is opened on your phone with the password you enter. What reaches Plum’s servers is the days you approve in the preview, saved the same way as anything you log by hand.
The password Clue gave me doesn’t work.
Check it in Clue again, it’s shown inside the app rather than in the email. If it still fails, ask Clue for a fresh export and try that file.
