Sharing in Plum is a summary, not access. When you turn sharing on for a group, Plum publishes a few fields about your cycle and nothing else. Your logs stay in your account.
What a group can see
- Your last period. The first day of the most recent period you logged.
- Your next expected period. The predicted start date, and how long your cycle and period usually run so the timeline can draw them.
- Whether you’re on your period today, and which day of it you’re on.
- Your exercise days, only if you’ve turned that switch on. Which days in the last four weeks you worked out, not what you did.
- Your name and avatar, as you set them in Me.
What stays with you
- Notes, symptoms, mood, energy, sleep, skin, pain and anything else you log on a day.
- Flow levels and spotting.
- Your fertile window, ovulation day and cycle phase.
- Birth control method and reminders.
- Insights, tips and cycle summaries.
- Your age, goals and anything else from onboarding.
The list of shared fields is fixed in the app’s code. There is no setting that widens it, and nothing a group admin can turn on to see more.
Turning it off
Every group has its own switch. Turn cycle sharing off for one group and its members stop seeing your dates right away, while your other groups carry on. How to do that, and how to leave or delete a group, is on its own page. For the wider picture of what Plum stores and who it talks to, read how Plum handles your data.
Common questions
Can my group see my symptoms or notes?
No. What you log on a day, the notes, symptoms, mood, sleep, pain and everything else, never leaves your account. A group only gets a short summary of your period dates.
Can my group see my fertile window or ovulation day?
No. Fertile window, ovulation and cycle phase are never shared, in any group, with any setting.
Can my group see whether I’m on birth control?
No. Birth control settings and reminders are yours alone.
What does sharing exercise days mean?
It shows the group which days in the last four weeks you logged a workout, as a mark on the day. It never shows what the workout was. It’s a separate switch from cycle sharing, it only applies once you track exercise, and you can share exercise days without sharing your cycle at all.
Can Plum staff see what I log?
Your data is stored on Plum’s servers encrypted in transit and at rest, and it’s never sold or used for ads. The plain-language data page lists exactly what is collected and which services see any of it.
